Swiss-based Additiv has poached a prominent Singapore private banker to replace its outgoing Asia boss, finews.asia has learned. The move represents the fintech firm's ambitious expansion plans in Asia.

The Zurich-based fintech Additiv is hiring Adrian Weiss to expand its business in Asia, finews.asia has learned. Weiss is a 13-year veteran of Citibank, where he is currently the regional head of advisory for Asia as well as Europe, the Middle East and Africa at its wealth management arm.

He replaces Loic Pitrou, who is founding a consulting firm, New Wealth, which will advise banks and start-ups on how to launch their digital services in Asia.

Weiss, who joins next Thursday, will lead a team of sales, channel and product markets to bolster Additiv's standing in Southeast and North Asia, in particular the fintech firm's «digital finance as a service». Specifically, Weiss will help establish its cloud-based digital wealth offering in Asia, commensurate to its standing in Europe.
