Hong Kong-based Bank of East Asia's asset management arm has announced the appointment of a chief executive officer and chief operating officer.

BEA Union Investment appoints Janet Li as CEO, according to a statement, subject to regulatory approval. She has 20 years of experience in the financial industry and previously worked at Mercer for five years as its wealth business leader for Asia after 16 years with Willis Towers Watson. 

Li succeeds Eleanor Wan who will remain with the firm as an advisor. Wan worked at BEA Union Investment for 12 years, contributing to developments like the establishment of public funds under the open-ended fund company (OFC) structure and the incorporation of an investment management wholly-foreign owned enterprise (IM-WFOE) in Shenzhen. 

In addition, BEA Union Investment Management also named Samson Chan as COO, succeeding Keith Cheung. He joins from Allianz Global Investors where he worked for 16 years, last as business and operations transformation director for APAC. Previously, he also worked at JP Morgan Securities and Accenture.
