UK-based Janus Henderson has expanded its business in Asia with new hires in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Janus Henderson Investors appoints Alexis Lavergne and Andrew Cox to the newly created roles of investment specialist - fixed income and investment specialist - equity, respectively, according to a statement. Based in Singapore, they will report to Andrew Hendry, head of distribution, Asia and CEO, Singapore.

Lavergne has more than a decade of asset management experience, most recently at H2O Asset Management where he was a client portfolio manager overseeing global macro fixed income and currencies strategies, covering investors across the APAC region. Previously, he also worked at BlackRock and Natixis Investment Managers.

Cox has nearly 20 years of investment experience and joins Janus Henderson following a brief career break. Prior to that, he was head of investor relations and corporate development at listed real estate firm Globalworth. Previously, he also worked at Schroders, Ell CapitalManagement, GIC Real Estate and Numis Securities in London and New York.

Hong Kong Office

And in Hong Kong, Janus Henderson has hired Stephanie Joeson and Keith Chan as director and sales manager for intermediary sales, respectively. They will report to Alex Ng, head of intermediary sales, Asia ex-Japan.

Joeson joins from Invesco where she was a senior manager for intermediary sales, covering private bank distribution. Previously, she also worked at Income Partners Asset Management and Citibank.

Chan was most recently an associate in Lazard Asset Management’s financial institutions group. Previously, he worked at Bank J. Safra Sarasin as a fund specialist.

Asia Ambitions

Janus Henderson has been hiring new talent as of late in Asia as part of broader ambitions to grow in the region. This year, it has already hired Majore Soh (from Lazard Asset Management), Shanice Loo (abrdn), Timothy Kwek (BlackRock), Ken Tan (DBS) and Ran Ma (Bloomberg).
