Zurich-headquartered Vontobel has announced the appointment of a new chief executive officer for Singapore, finews.asia has learned.

Vontobel appoints Silas Fok as CEO of its Singapore unit (Vontobel Pte. Ltd., Singapore), according to a note seen by finews.asia. Effective 1 January 2024, his appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Fok has over 17 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has been a part of the Vontobel team since 2017 and has held several key positions in Asia, including most recently as head APAC service hub, a role which he will retain.

Predecessor

Fok succeeds Georg von Wattenwyl, who takes on a global leadership role at the bank as global head of structured solutions financial institutions while continuing to be responsible for the APAC region. He has worked at Vontobel for over 24 years and was previously head of wealth management Asia.
