HSBC has reportedly hired a former investment banker from Evercore to lead dealmaking coverage in Singapore.

Alex Hong will join HSBC’s investment banking arm in Singapore, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing unnamed sources. In the role, he will lead dealmaking coverage in the city-state and report to Sandeep Pahwa, head of investment banking for South and Southeast Asia.

Hong has 17 years of experience, most recently as a director of investment banking at New York-headquartered Evercore in Singapore. Previously, he also worked at Greenhill & Co in Australia.
