London-based M&G Investments has announced the appointment of a head of Japan.

M&G Investments appoints Manabu Fujita as head of M&G Investments Japan, according to a statement, pending regulatory confirmation. Based in Tokyo, he will report to M&G head of Asia Pacific Loretta Ng.

In the role, Fujita will assume responsibility for M&G’s operations in Japan, overseeing execution of the group’s strategic direction and spearheading the growth of distribution across institutional, pension and retail businesses in Japan. 

Fujita joins from Schroders Investment Management (Japan) where he spent 15 years, most recently as head of sales. Previously, he also worked at Invesco Asset Management and Nippon Life Group in Japan.
