Two London-based executives at Barclays have been relocated to join the British lender’s private banking unit in Singapore.

Tom Road has been appointed deputy head, Barclays Private Bank, Singapore, according to a statement, reporting to Evonne Tan, head of Barclays Private Bank, Singapore.

Road has relocated to Singapore from London where he worked for Barclays Private Bank for the past 13 years, covering ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI) and global family offices. Previously, he worked at Linklaters as a senior lawyer specializing in M&A for real estate clients such as sovereign wealth funds, listed property companies and private investors.

Also relocating to Singapore from London is Wengmun Loh, who has been named head of dealing and derivatives, Barclays Private Bank, Singapore. In the role, he reports locally to head of investments Asia Ken Sze as well as functionally to global co-head of capital markets and head of structured products Aurelien Callegari.

Loh has over 30 years of trading experience across various asset classes including foreign exchange, equities and fixed income. He has been with Barclays since 2008, most recently as head of UK direct access for Barclays Private Bank, London. Previously, he also worked on the trading desks of HSBC, Société Générale, and Bloomberg LP.

«Both [Road] and [Loh] have experience in working with some of the largest and most sophisticated family offices and UHNWIs in the UK and Europe, making them instrumental additions to the Barclays Private Bank team in Singapore,» said Tan.
