London-headquartered law firm Linklaters has named a new global head of capital markets based in Hong Kong.

Hwang Hwa Sim has been appointed global practice head for capital markets, according to a statement, succeeding Michael Voisin whose tenure in the role ends on April 30 this year. Sim will serve for a four-year term in his Hong Kong-based role.

Sim was promoted as a capital markets partner with Linklaters in 2010. He has experience advising issuers, underwriters and investors on the full range of debt, equity and equity-linked products in China and Asia.

«Market volatility in recent years has been matched by innovative transactions and an increase in product complexity, and most recently we have seen the emerging importance of fundraising in the ESG sector,» said Paul Lewis, Linklaters’ global head of finance. «We expect markets to continue to be active this year and drive post-Covid recovery in the real economy.»
