The senior executive, who has around 25 years of industry experience, replaces Mark Li, who has left the firm for other opportunities.

Singapore-based fund management company Fullerton has appointed James Zhang Jun as general manager of Fullerton Investment Management (Shanghai), its China entity, effective June 1.

Based in Shanghai, Zhang will lead the firm's investment and business development efforts in China, and will be responsible for driving client engagement and overseeing operations there. He reports to Fullerton Fund Management chief executive Jenny Sofian.

Zhang brings strong local knowledge, including of the evolving business landscape and regulatory environment, to the role. He joins from China International Fund Management, J.P. Morgan Asset Management's onshore joint venture, where he was executive vice president and managing director, sales. He was previously responsible for the retail sales and marketing of personal wealth management products for China Construction Bank

Fullerton has over S$50 billion ($35.75 billion) in assets under management as of end-April 2020. It was founded in 2003 as a subsidiary of Temasek Holdings, adding NTUC Income as a minority shareholder in 2018.
