RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, have filled the position left vacant by the departure last year of Grace Barki.

Gea 160Tho Gea Hong (pictured left) has been named as the new Head of Wealth Management, Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, Gea Hong will be responsible for providing the strategic direction and managerial counsel for the wealth manager’s Southeast Asia business.

Her mandate will also support RBC Wealth Management’s sales, marketing and investments initiatives relating to its Southeast Asia market, the bank said in a press release to finews.asia.

Gea Hong is an industry veteran with 27 years’ experience in financial services, the last 11 of which focused on the Southeast Asia private banking market.

Exits EFG Bank

Having held previous roles with DBS and Merrill Lynch International Bank, Gea Hong joins RBC Wealth Management from EFG Bank, where she held the role of Head of Private Banking & Deputy CEO, Southeast Asia.
