As the company pushes further into the Asian marketplace, institutional data and analytics firm eVestment has named a new vice president of business development for the region.

Based in Hong Kong Lawrence Yin will be responsible for serving the needs of eVestment’s growing client base in Asia and developing new clients in the region the company said in a note to finews.asia.

Prior to joining eVestment Yin served as an assistant vice president of business development with Moody’s Investors Service in Hong Kong. While there, he worked to increase Moody’s market share and revenue in the greater China region.

Before joining Moody’s Investors Service, Yin held a series of positions with increasing responsibility at Macquarie Group across Asia Pacific.

Investment Trends

eVestment provides a flexible suite of cloud-based solutions to help the institutional investing community identify and capitalise on global investment trends, better select and monitor investment managers and more successfully enable asset managers to market their funds worldwide.

Asset Flows and Behaviour

The company serves the traditional or long-only industry with strategic analytic and reporting tools powered by extensive data submitted by thousands of asset managers. eVestment also offers unique insight into institutional holdings, asset flows and investor behaviour.

The firm also serves the alternatives industry with a depth of hedge fund data not available elsewhere and analytic tools that reflect the unique nature of hedge funds, including liquidity analysis for investors and several methods for risk modelling.
