London-based HSBC's private banking arm strengthens its Asian ultra-high-net-worth business with the hire of two former Credit Suisse executives.

HSBC Global Private Banking has appointed Kerri Lim as head of ultra-high net worth (UHNW) segment for Asia, according to a statement. In the role, she will report to UHNW global head Caroline Kitidis as well as global head of investments and wealth solutions Lavanya Chari.

Lim was most recently head of business development for global family institutional wealth in the Asia-Pacific at UBS. She has more than 20 years of experience in client relationship management, technology and program management with global financial institutions including Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.

Family Office Segment

The British private bank has also appointed Pritash Mathur as head of family office coverage for global India and global South Asia, reporting to Lim. In the role, he will be responsible for the bank’s UHNW growth strategy in India and South Asia while working with market heads in India, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa as well as Europe.

Mathur has more than two decades of industry experience and previously worked with HSBC's Hong Kong and Singapore unit to launch the India private banking business. Prior to that, he also worked at Credit Suisse in Singapore, Zurich and India, where also has a track record of launching the onshore private banking business in 2008.
