Missing China investment banker Bao Fan has resurfaced after disappearing for nearly one year.

Bao Fan will resign from China Renaissance, the boutique investment bank he founded in 2005, according to an exchange filing citing «health reasons» and the desire to «spend more time on family affairs» as the reasons. Co-founder Xie Yi Jing will assume his duties while Jason Lam was named executive director and vice chairman.

Bao, an ex-Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse banker, has been out of public sight since February 2023 before Chinese authorities later said he was placed under detention for an investigation.
