Singapore-based OCBC has appointed a head of corporate banking for its China unit.

OCBC China appoints Seth Tan as head of corporate banking, according to a statement. He succeeds Ang Eng Siong who was named OCBC China CEO on 1 November 2023. Based in Shanghai, Tan reports to Ang and will be responsible for all banking relationships with state-owned enterprises and large corporates across the China market.

Tan has over 27 years of banking experience and was most recently working at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation as co-head of structured finance Asia. Prior to that, he worked at DBS, BNP Paribas, Standard Bank and Babcock & Brown in Greater China. Previously, he was also the founding head of Infrastructure Asia, an agency set up by Enterprise Singapore and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
