New York-based J.P. Morgan Asset Management has announced the appointment of a Singapore and Southeast Asia chief.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) appoints Ayaz Ebrahim as Singapore and Southeast Asia CEO, according to a statement, subject to regulatory approval. Based in Singapore, he reports to APAC CEO Dan Watkins as well as emerging markets and APAC (EMAP) equities head Anuj Arora. 

Ebrahim joined JPMAM in 2015 and is currently a portfolio manager and co-head of the APAC regional team within EMAP equities. He has 34 years of industry experience and previously held various leadership roles at Amundi, HSBC and Deutsche Bank. 

In the new role, Ebrahim will also retain his investment responsibilities within EMAP equities.

Relocation to Europe

Ebrahim succeeds Sherene Ban who will be relocating to Europe to become head of continental Europe institutional.
