Dallas-headquartered CBRE has announced an internal promotion to the role of North Asia advisory president. 

CBRE appoints Tom Gaffney as president of the North Asia advisory business, according to a statement. He succeeds Ben Duncan, who will become chair of North Asia, covering mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Korea,

Gaffney has 21 years of experience in Asia’s commercial real estate market, leading CBRE’s advisory business in Hong Kong since 2016. Previously, he also worked in a range of executive positions in commercial real estate investment, transactions and advisory services in the region.

«Our advisory business in Hong Kong has grown significantly since [Gaffney] took over leadership in 2016. He is highly regarded by our people and our clients throughout the Asia commercial real estate market,» said Chris Kirk, global chief operating officer, advisory services at CBRE.
