London-based Barclays has announced the appointment of a head of sustainable and impact banking for the Asia Pacific region.

Barclays appoints Denise Wong as head of sustainable and impact banking, APAC, according to a statement. Based in Hong Kong, she reports regionally to APAC head of investment banking Vanessa Koo as well as functionally to global co-heads of sustainable and impact banking Brian Reilly and Marie Freier.

Wong has over 20 years of experience, mostly with Barclays in Hong Kong and New York. She was most recently a venture capital investor at VU Venture Partners and chief financial officer at Asian alternative protein company Green Monday. Prior to that, she worked at Barclays for 12 years, last as the investment banking arm’s head of consumer and retail, Asia ex-Japan.
