Frankfurt-headquartered DWS has announced the appointment of a head of real estate for Japan.

DWS appoints Koichiro Obu as head of real estate, Japan, according to a statement. He will retain his current role as head of real estate research, APAC, while reporting to Singapore-based Christopher Kimm, head of real estate, APAC as well as London-based Simon Wallace, global co-head of real estate research, EMEA and APAC.

He will also maintain his position on the DWS APAC real estate senior management team and his membership in the DWS APAC real estate investment committee. 

Obu has 28 years of industry experience and he first joined DWS in 2007. Previously, he also worked at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in Tokyo and London.
