An Asia partner at private equity firm Carlyle Group is reportedly stepping down in Hong Kong.

Patrick Siewert is retiring from his role as partner and head of consumer, media and retail at Carlyle Group next month, according to a «Bloomberg» report, after 16 years in Hong Kong.

«We thank him for his significant contributions throughout the years,» said Asia chairman Yang Xiangdong in response, adding that Siewert will move into a senior advisor role for the consumer sector.

Siewert joined Carlyle in 2007 as a partner and led investments, including the acquisition of McDonald’s Chinese operations with Citic Capital. He was the former group president and chief operating officer for Coca-Cola in Asia ex-Japan and started his career at Eastman Kodak Company in 1974.

Siewert also sits on the board of Mondelez International Inc. and Avery Dennison Corp.
