Starting next week, an interim chairman takes over for the departing Sergio Ermotti at Swiss Re, allowing him to focus on his new CEO duties at UBS.

In a case of in with the old, and out with the new, Sergio Ermitti returned to UBS on April 5 to take over the CEO role from Ralph Hamers, and was on hand to announce the first quarter results for UBS and field questions on the takeover of Credit Suisse.

He is stepping down as chairman of Swiss Re on April 30, after completing the agreed-upon transition period. He makes way for vice-chairman Jacques de Vaucleroy, who is also a lead independent director, to assume chairmanship on an interim basis and has been tasked with the search for a successor to Ermotti.
