The global bank promotes two senior bankers within the treasury and trade solutions group.

Citi has appointed Deven Somaya as the global head of emerging commerce solutions in the bank's TTS partnerships and innovation group, according to an announcement sent Friday.

Based in Singapore, Somaya will report to Biswarup Chatterjee, TTS global head of partnerships and innovation, as well as Rajesh Mehta, head of TTS Asia Pacific. As part of what is a newly created role, Somaya will be responsible for designing and developing new client solutions and developing, as well as incubating new business opportunities.

Having more than 20 years of experience with Citi, Somaya was the interim ASEAN and Singapore TTS head and TTS product head for Singapore.

Australia and New Zealand

In addition, Citi also announced the appointment of Kirstin Renner as head of TTS for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). Her role will be effective from 20 March 2023 and subject to regulatory approval.

In the role, Renner will be responsible for leading TTS business strategy and growth in the ANZ region. She joined Citi in 2007 and has held various roles which include the head of implementation and channel product, chief operating officer, and most recently head of core cash products. Similar to Somaya, she also reports to Rajesh Mehta.
