Singapore-based multi-family office Whampoa Group has announced the appointment of co-heads to oversee public market investments for its digital arm.

Whampoa Group appoints Sherwin Koh and Tim Tan as co-heads of public market investments for Whampoa Digital, according to a statement.

Koh is an accountant by training and a self-taught software engineer with three years of Web3 technology experience. He previously managed funds for investors using a suite of self-developed proprietary trading tools and bots.

Tan has experience in decentralized finance, specifically in protocols, applications, lending and yield strategies. He has been trading digital assets since 2017 when he joined QCP Capital as one of its earliest employees.

Whampoa Digital

In December 2022, Whampoa launched its digital arm, Whampoa Digital, to focus on investments in the space, including early-stage ventures that develop blockchain infrastructure and Web3 applications.

«[R]ight now, we're only seeing the very tip of the iceberg,» said Whampoa Digital CIO Jeffery Ma in an interview with finews.asia in February.

Whampoa is a Singapore-headquartered multi-family office. Its founders include renowned figures from the city-state including Amy Lee, niece of the late Lee Kuan Yew, and Lee Han Shih, member of the OCBC banking family.
