FWD Group has hired Axa's former chief risk officer for Hong Kong and Macau.

Hong Kong-based insurer FWD appoints Jeremy Porter as group chief risk officer (CRO), according to a statement, subject to regulatory approval. Porter will also become a member of the group executive committee and report to group CEO and executive director Huynh Thanh Phong.

Porter has over 30 years of experience across various risk, finance and actuarial roles. He was most recently the chief risk officer for Hong Kong and Macau at Axa.

He succeeds Niall Grady who has been serving as interim group CRO and group chief compliance officer since April 2022. Grady will remain in his role as group chief compliance officer and report to Porter. Established in 2013, FWD is a pan-Asian life insurance firm with around 10 million customers across 10 markets in the region, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and more.
