A seasoned banker based in Hong Kong has resigned from his role at boutique private bank LGT to join British-lender Barclays Wealth, finews.asia can reveal.

A spokesperson at Barclays confirmed that the British lender has a new head of family office and funds in Jersey (pictured above). Charles Humpleby joins the wealth arm of Barclays after a little less than two years with LGT in Hong Kong.

A seasoned Asia-hand, Humpleby has spent a decade in the region in various roles with Standard Chartered Private Bank as well as ABN Amro Private Banking. For his position at Barclays, Humpleby will relocate from Hong Kong to Jersey and join the Channel Islands leadership team, reporting to managing director Paul Savery, who said his appointment would set the bank up «for a strong start to 2019.»
