The Bank of Singapore, the wholly-owned private banking subsidiary of Oversea Chinese Banking Corp, has appointed a new Chief Investment Officer.

Johan Jooste has relocated from London to take up the new Singapore based role. A spokesperson for the bank was asked to confirm the move to finews.asia, however the Linkedin profile of Jooste shows he has commenced his new role.

Prior to joining Bank of Singapore Jooste was the CIO at London based boutique wealth manager Azure Wealth. Earlier in his career he was the Chief Investment Officer U.K. at Julius Baer in London and Chief Market Strategist at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management also in London.

Barclays Wealth

Bank of Singapore recently entered into an agreement to acquire the Wealth and Investment Management business of Barclays Bank in Singapore and Hong Kong for approximately $320 million in cash.

With the addition of the Barclays units, Bank of Singapore’s AUM will rise by 33.3 percent to $73.3 billion.
