The U.K. based bank Barclays has appointed a new head for the Wealth and Investment Management division in Singapore.

Recently the focus on the bank has been on the imminent sale of the Asian based wealth units. As finews.asia reported recently three potential suitors are said to be studying the business as an acquisition target.

finews.asia has learned that Andrew Tailby-Faulkes has been appointed as Head of Wealth & Investment Management, Singapore at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.  A spokesperson confirmed the matter but did not want to be mentioned. Officially the bank has not yet made any announcement.

Wealth Management Career

Prior to his current role at Barclays, Tailby-Faulkes was the head of the Barclays Global Trusts business and he also headed up the International Wealth Advisory team, also a globally based team.

Before joining Barclays in 2011 Tailby-Faulkes was a tax partner at Ernst & Young, where he headed Private Client Advisory Services for the UK & Ireland practice, focused on servicing the tax, wealth structuring and advisory requirements of wealthy UK and international families. He also had spells with Royal Bank of Canada and KPMG.
