The Ex CEO of Credit Suisse Private Banking Asia Pacific has taken over the chairmanship of the Myer Family office.

Marcel Kreis has been based in Singapore since 1990, having previously worked in Hong Kong, Melbourne and Sydney, including as Credit Suisse’s Asia-Pacific head of private banking. He joined the MFCo board last year.

He will take over from the Sydney-based Carnival Australia chief executive Ann Sherry, who will remain on the MFCo board along with Martyn Myer, Sid Myer and MFCo chief executive Peter Hodgson.

Exciting Times

The Myer Family Company provides private wealth management services including investment advice to families, individuals and institutions. It is also engaged in philanthropic services that provide assistance to start-up philanthropic foundations. The $3 billion MFCo manages money for more than 120 wealthy family client groups.

«There are very few businesses internationally that truly place the interests of their clients’ at the centre of all they do. MFCo certainly does this and it is an exciting time to lead the board and the business into the future,» Kreis said.

Significant Experience

Kreis has accumulated more than 30 years of experience across private banking in Asia. Commencing at Citibank and then at Merrill Lynch, before joining Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS) in 1990, where he held various management positions, including head of global wealth management in South-east Asia and the Pacific, including Australia and Japan domestic. He joined Credit Suisse in 2007 and was head of Private Banking for Asia Pacific up to 2011.
