HSBC is reportedly relocating its headquarters in London from the Canary Wharf tower to a new office overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral.

HSBC is planning to leave its Canary Wharf headquarters and relocate around 8,000 workers to a new office in the City of London overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing a memo.

HSBC will look to downsize its headquarters from 1.1 million square feet of space at Canary Wharf to 556,000 square feet at the new planned office. The British lender has resided in the 45-story Canary Wharf tower since 2002 and its current lease is due to expire in 2027.

«[HSBC] will now begin more detailed discussions on a potential lease, with the intention to move in late 2026,» the memo said.
