Citigroup chief executive Jane Fraser has been diagnosed with Covid-19 and will be unable to travel to Hong Kong for the city's global financial summit next week.

Citi CEO Jane Fraser will be unable to travel to Hong Kong and attend its much anticipated global financial summit from November 1 to 3.

«Unfortunately, Jane has been diagnosed with Covid and is unable to travel to Hong Kong,» said Citi spokesperson James Griffiths. «She looks forward to visiting in the near future.»

Last Second Hiccups

After three years of grueling Covid restrictions, Hong Kong is attempting to reconnect with the world and the upcoming summit is a critical event to demonstrate continued confidence in the city as a financial hub.

In addition to the loss of a key attendee in Fraser, Hong Kong financial secretary Paul Chan also tested positive for Covid yesterday in Riyadh as part of a six-day trip in the Middle East to woo new investments.
