M&G Real Estate has appointed a chief investment officer and interim chief executive for its Asia unit.

The real estate fund management arm of U.K.-based M&G Investments has appointed Lai Jing Dong as its chief investment officer and interim chief executive officer, Asia, it announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Based in Singapore, Lai reports to Tony Brown, global head of M&G Real Estate, the announcement said.

Lai has had more than 18 years of real estate investment experience. He joined the company in 2016 as its acquisitions director, and took on an additional role as head of M&G Real Estate Japan in 2019. Prior to joining M&G, he was director and head of investments at Straits Real Estate. He also held senior positions at Goldman Sachs Japan and Carlyle Asia Real Estate Partners in Hong Kong.
