Standard Chartered has bulked up its financial markets arm in Singapore, three months after a hiring spree for credit trading in Asia.

London-based Standard Chartered said it is hiring Kevin Burke as global head of financial market sales as well as Hoe Long Leng as head of foreign exchange, interest rate and credit trading for southeast Asia.

Both will be based in Singapore.

Credit Hiring Spree

Their hire comes three months after the bank went on a hiring spree to expand its credit trading business in Asia, taking on 10 bankers in May including in Singapore and Hong Kong.

The hire of Burke and Leng comes alongside a U.S. push for Standard Chartered, which has hired hedge fund executive Jens Andersen and Molly Duffy from Credit Suisse as co-heads of its financial markets arm in the Americas.
