Credit Suisse has lured a prominent insurance specialist and veteran UBS banker in Singapore, finews.asia has learned. It is the latest in a series of defections from Switzerland's largest bank to its smaller rival.

Nicholas Kourteff has been hired by Credit Suisse as the Swiss bank's head of product management insurance solutions in Asia, finews.asia has learned. He held a similar role at UBS, where he spent nine years in total.

Kourteff has managed financial planning teams in North Asia as well as brokers supporting wealth planners and client advisors covering South Asia, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He is the latest prominent executive that Credit Suisse has successfully poached from UBS, its crosstown rival in Zurich, in Asia in particular. Others have included Urs Grueter as head of Thailand, marketing executive Patricia Enslow, and Tsuneaki Hirao for its Japanese private bank.
