UBS Asset Management believes that with increasing demand for stable income and earnings growth investors are increasingly interested in infrastructure.

UBS Asset Management and CBRE Clarion Securities have launched the UBS Clarion Global Infrastructure Securities Fund. The new investment vehicle is designed to provide enhanced diversification with easy access to the in demand infrastructure market.

Listed infrastructure can mitigate liquidity and accessibility challenges faced by investors in the asset class and complement an overall infrastructure allocation. As an asset class in Asia Pacific interest in listed infrastructure is growing as investors look for a dynamic portfolio allocation.

Future Global Demand

Head of UBS Asset Management Bryce Doherty thinks that Global listed infrastructure stocks are especially attractive to income investors as they have demonstrated consistent long-term growth with solid yields. Also by investing in transport, utilities, energy and communications, income tends to remain stable over market cycles.

There is also an ongoing and future global demand to invest in new types of infrastructure - including renewables, nuclear and natural gas - due to concerns about fossil fuels.
