The former Head of Investment Strategy, Asia-Pacific, at HSBC Private Bank, has been appointed as Director, investments, at a dedicated ethical funds manager. 

Benjamin Pedley has joined UCA Funds Management, the Uniting Church in Australia's dedicated ethical funds manager, as Director, investments.

Pedley as finews.asia reported, recently left HSBC Private Bank Hong Kong, where he was head of investment strategy, Asia-Pacific. Prior to HSBC, Pedley was head of investments at UBS Wealth Management, and was also head of advisory services at LGT Investment Management.

Ethical Investment Growth

As Director Investments, Pedley will lead UCA Funds Management’s investment team. He will provide macroeconomic analysis and manage investment strategy and portfolio asset allocation.

The enormous growth of interest in ethical investment in Australia and UCA Funds Management’s investment track record were major factors in Pedley’s decision to join the team.

Values-based Approach

«We are on the cusp of a significant generational shift, and today’s investor wants to talk to fund managers with values that are more societally driven,» said Pedley.

During his time in Asia, Pedley was a familiar face as a financial market commentator on CNBC, Bloomberg, Sky and the BBC.
