Jurgen Klinsmann a former Inter Milan favourite, believes that Indonesian tycoon Erick Thohir will deliver success for his club. He also voiced support for manager Roberto Mancini.

Klinsmann said, "I think that Erick Thohir will bring benefits. They just have to find the correct new road for themselves and doing that takes patience, trust and time. You cannot have everything at once."

Inter Milan won the treble in 2010 and remain one of the game's most famous names.

However, they have struggled both on and off the field in recent years, their slump resulted in former owner Massimo Moratti handing over control of the club to Indonesian Thohir in November 2013.

Inter have yet to regain their place among Italy's elite, let alone Europe's - despite the subsequent return of Mancini, who won three consecutive Scudetti during his first spell at San Siro between 2004 and 2008.

Klinsmann went on to say the view that Inter's reputation has plummeted in recent seasons and that the game's top talent is no longer drawn to San Siro is false.

"I'd recommend Inter to all of the best players in the world," the United States coach added. "Inter are Inter, a name that is a guarantee and that still counts in football. Globally, Inter have not suffered any backlash."
