The Asian Wealth Times understands that the head of wealth management for South East Asia at Royal Bank of Canada will leave the bank at the end of this month. The bank confirmed this to AWT late on Wednesday evening.

Highly respected and experienced private banker Grace Barki who has built a team covering Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand at the Canadian lender is said to be leaving at the end of this week.

Barki has nearly 30 years of private banking and corporate banking experience, beginning her career in 1985 and subsequently taking on senior leadership positions in the corporate banking and the private banking divisions of global banks. She previously held senior roles at Bank Sarasin (now J Safra Sarasin) and at UBS; she is fluent in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia.
