Changes are afoot on VP Bank's board of directors. The current chairman isn't standing for re-election.

The Liechtenstein private bank VP Bank has to find a new chairman for its board of directors. Thomas Meier has decided not to stand for re-election at the upcoming annual general meeting after a total of six years and two terms as chairman.

The early announcement is intended to enable the search for a successor and an optimal handover of staff, according to a media release on Friday. Meier was elected to the banking group's board in 2018 and as its chairman in 2020. He played a key role in shaping the bank's strategic development, according to the statement.

The board said it regrets Meier's decision. The official farewell and vote of thanks will take place at the annual general meeting on April 26 when Meier hands over the board leadership.
