HSBC has appointed a new head of business banking, shifting an executive from Vietnam to Singapore. 

Alan Ng has been named head of business banking to focus on the coverage of small and medium-sized enterprises, according to a statement, reporting to Regina Lee, head of commercial banking, HSBC Singapore. 

Ng succeeds Ng Li Lian who was appointed in March to lead a new coverage division that focuses on mid-sized businesses in Singapore with a global focus.

Ng has more than two decades of banking experience, including around 14 years with HSBC after first joining in 2008. He was most recently its head of global trade and receivables finance at HSBC Vietnam since 2020. Previously, he also served as the head of global trade and receivables finance at HSBC Taiwan.
