The former regional head of the passives giant has joined a Chinese brokerage giant.

Charles Lin has joined Hong Kong-based CLSA – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese state-owned Citic Securities – as its vice-chairman. Lin is believed to be taking a leading role to direct the firm’s foreign strategy.

A spokesperson could not be reached for comment.

Lin was most recently the Asia chief executive of Vanguard where he spent more than eight years of his career. He held various roles including ones focused on Greater China sales. Previously, he had also worked with Itau Securities and Deutsche’s asset management unit.
