Henley & Partners has published new research detailing the top places for relocation and family wealth based on various factors, including education and earning potential.

Switzerland was named as the top location to create significant opportunities for the next generation, according to the Henley Opportunity Index which covers 27 countries and territories. 

Based on six factors – earning potential, career advancement, employment prospects, education, economic mobility and livability – the Alpine nation scored 85 out of 100 points. The US ranked second place with 82 points.

Top Spots in Asia

In third place with 79 points was Singapore which was rated particularly highly in terms of earning potential, employment prospects and economic mobility. Other Asia Pacific locations in the top 10 were Australia (fourth place, 75 points) and Hong Kong (eighth place, 64 points).

«Investing in your child’s education is universally acknowledged as one of the best ways to set them up for success later in life,» said Henley & Partners Education director Tess Wilkinson. «However, economic research also shows over two-thirds of income variation between individuals globally is simply attributable to which country they live and work in.»
