Hangzhou-headquartered Ant Group has expanded its presence with the opening of a new office in Singapore.

Ant Group has opened a new office in Singapore, according to a statement. The office will house various business and technology segments including Ant International.

Existing operations include payment platform Alipay+, SME-focused financial services platform WorldFirst and locally licensed digital wholesale lender ANEXT Bank.

«From Singapore, we are extending a global journey towards our unchanging vision: to work with partners to create a future commerce where every individual and every business may harness the power of digital technologies to achieve sustainable growth,» said Peng Yang, the newly appointed president of Ant International. 

New Foundation

In addition, the Chinese fintech giant also announced the creation of Ant International Foundation in the city-state which «reaffirms the company’s commitment to Singapore as a global anchor of innovation and sustainable growth».

The foundation aims to work with global partners including Ant non-profit project 10x1000 Tech for Inclusion Project, Swiss-based non-profit initiative Green Digital Finance Alliance and the WEF's Forum of Young Global Leaders. It will also lead new collaborative projects in Singapore, including an initiative called Girls Love Tech to drive inclusivity in the fintech industry.
