In a sign of a post-1MDB turnaround, Goldman Sachs is reportedly seeking to open a new office in Abu Dhabi.

Goldman Sachs is opening an office in Abu Dhabi Global Market, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing an internal memo, pending final regulatory approval.

The new office will initially be focused on asset management while Goldman’s investment bankers will remain in the Dubai office. Within the Middle East, the US lender currently also has offices in Doha and Riyadh.

A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
