She will succeed Patrick Teow, who will take a career break after seven years with AIA and more than 35 years working in the life insurance industry.

AIA Singapore has announced its incoming chief executive officer, Wong Sze Keed, who will replace Patrick Teow on 1 July, when the incumbent will take a career break, a statement on Tuesday said.

Wong is currently AIA Singapore's chief distribution officer. She joined the firm in 2013, and under her leadership, its agency business achieved the highest number of Million Dollar Round Table registered members for a record fifth consecutive year. 

In her new role, she will report to Tan Hak Leh, regional chief executive of AIA Group.

Wong has more than 27 years of experience working in Singapore’s financial services industry and has held a broad range of senior management roles during her career.

Profit Rises

In March, AIA Singapore reported a 6 percent increase in operating tax after profit to $583 million, and that it remains committed to its Premier Agency strategy, with an ongoing focus on quality recruitment, professional career development, and investing in an integrated digital platform.
