Singapore recently hosted its first exhibition of Icons of Ferrari. Each representing a special journey of Ferrari Design, four iconic models were exhibited at the National Design Centre; the Ferrari F40, 599 GTO, LaFerrari and the 50th Anniversary Tailor Made F12 Berlinetta, piece-unique to Singapore.

It was fitting that the exhibition was held in the National Design Centre’s atrium as the cars all hold a very special place in the heart of design at Ferrari. From the striking Pininfarina designed body of the F40, to the LaFerrari, a true futuristic concept car. No matter how unique its character, a Ferrari is instantly recognisable – a mix of innovation and continuity with its past.

Dieter Knechtel, Managing Director of Ferrari Far East, strongly believes in the growth of Ferrari in the island state, saying “Singapore is a key market in the Far East region for Ferrari, with its passion for fast cars and appreciation for motoring tradition and innovation. With this exhibition, Singapore continues to mark its integral part in the ever-growing Ferrari market in the Asia Pacific region.”

Paying homage to Singapore’s accomplishments since independence, the 50th Anniversary F12 Berlinetta, a custom model, was styled by Ferrari’s Tailor Made department using elements from famed Singapore iconography. Finished in a unique shade of metallic red dubbed Rosso Singapore with racing stripes in Singapore colours, it marked a milestone in Singapore’s history and partnership with Ferrari.

A special lecture on Ferrari Design was conducted by Adrian Griffths of Centro Stile Ferrari during the exhibition. The lecture was attended by more than 100 members of the public who were given rare insights into the unique design of a Ferrari.
