A former Barings manager joins asset manager Jupiter in October to work on its Japan funds, alongside with Dan Carter.

Mitesh Patel has been an investment manager at Barings since 2013 and previously worked at Blackrock. He will join British asset manager Jupiter on October 3, supporting Dan Carter on the Japan Income and Japan Select Sicav funds.

His arrival follows on from the departure of longstanding manager Simon Somerville earlier this year.

«We are delighted with the progress Dan Carter has made since taking on the senior management role of the Japan equity portfolios. The recruitment of Mitesh to work alongside him adds further strength to our line up and underwrites our commitment to this strategy,» Jupiter CEO Stephen Pearson said.
