Paris headquartered Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking has announced senior appointments within its Global Markets division, including an Asian based move. 

Yann Garnier has been appointed as Head of Global Markets for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in Asia Pacific. He was previously the Deputy Head of Global Markets Asia Pacific, as well as holding the Head of Global Market Sales, Asia Pacific role.

Garnier is based in Hong Kong and reports functionally to Frank Drouet as well as locally to Hikaru Ogata, CEO of Societe Generale Global Banking & Investor Solutions in Asia Pacific. 

Hong Kong Move

Garnier joined Societe Generale in Paris in 1998 as an Equity Derivatives Marketer. He then took on a role within Structured Products Sales in 2000, and was later appointed Head of Equity Derivatives Sales, Central Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa in 2007.

He relocated to Hong Kong in 2009 to become Head of Structured Products Sales, Global Equities and Derivatives Solutions for Asia Pacific. In July 2009, he was appointed Head of Sales for Cross Asset Solutions for Asia Pacific, additionally becoming Head of FI & Corporate Fixed Income and Currencies Flow Sales in 2011.
