finews.asia has learnt that the Co-Head of HSBC Private Bank in Singapore has left the bank.

Rob Ioannou, a long serving HSBC Private Banking career professional with over 13 years of service at the U.K. headquartered bank, was a well-known and popular figure at the Singapore private bank.

Ioannou along with Sandeep Sharma had been acting as Co-Heads of the Singapore HSBC Private Bank unit since 2014.

Yesterday finews.asia reported that Sandeep Sharma had taken on the role of Global Head of South East Asia at HSBC Private Bank and would continue to be based in Singapore. Prior to his time with HSBC Ioannou had worked at J.P.Morgan Private Bank for four and a half years and Citibank for two years.

When asked a spokesperson for HSBC said that Ioannou had left the bank to pursue other opportunities.
