HSBC Private Bank has announced the appointment of a new Head of Global Private Banking, South East Asia. The new role recognises the significance of the Southeast Asian market segment for the U.K. headquartered banking group.

In a press release HSBC said in this new role, Sandeep Sharma will be responsible for driving and executing HSBC’s strategy for private banking across South East Asia. Based in Singapore, he will report to HSBC Singapore’s Chief Executive Officer, Guy Harvey-Samuel and Regional Head of Global Private Banking, Asia-Pacific, Bernard Rennell.

Co-Head Since 2014

Sandeep Sharma is currently the Co-Head of HSBC Private Bank Southeast Asia. He joined the HSBC Group in 2010 as Business Head for the Indian Sub-Continent team. Sharma and Rob Ioannou have been acting as Co-Heads of the Singapore HSBC Private Bank unit since 2014.

Prior to joining HSBC, Sandeep Sharma held senior positions at Barclays Wealth Singapore and Societe Generale Private Bank.
