The former head of the Zurich branch of French bank Societe Generale, has taken over as the Chief Executive of J. Safra Sarasin in Singapore.

The bank confirmed to finews.ch that Benedikt Maissen, who has more than twenty five years of experience in Asia, commenced his new role on April the 1st. Maissen will report to the Asian head of the Swiss Brazilian bank, Enid Yip.

The appointment comes more than a year after the departure of Eric Morin who had held the role of CEO for Singapore and Southeast Asia for just over two years before leaving to join Union Bancaire Privee in May 2015.   

Singapore Experience

Maissen previously held private banking and leadership positions in Singapore with Societe Generale Private Banking for almost four years and Barclays Wealth for five years before heading to Switzerland to take up the role of Head of the Zurich Branch.
