Swiss bank Credit Suisse has appointed a new Head of Alternative Investments for Private Banking in Asia Pacific.

Donald Rice, who has worked at Credit Suisse for 19 years, most recently as Head of the Alternative Investments Coverage team within the International Wealth Management division of Credit Suisse, based in Zurich, will relocate to Asia in March to take up his new post. Credit Suisse said in a statement to finews.asia on Monday.

Prior to this role, Rice established the area for structuring and marketing of fund of hedge fund products for the firm’s various distribution channels. Additionally, he has been involved in strategy coverage and due diligence on tactical trading and fixed income-based strategies.

Advisor to International Pension Funds

Under Rice his team will be responsible for driving Credit Suisse’s differentiated Alternative Investments offering, which includes hedge funds, private equity and real estate, across our locations in Asia Pacific. In his new role, Rice will be located in Singapore and report to Rajesh Manwani, Head of Investment Solutions and Products, Private Banking Asia Pacific.

He has also served as an investment advisor to international pension funds and sovereign entities, where he was responsible for strategy allocation, as well as alternative investment selection.
